Hello,
I'm trying to build the HEGduino from scratch. So far I have all the parts but I really can't find the BR1102W LED in my country. Is it possible to replace this with another 'LED RED CLEAR 3216 SMD' or are the specs very specific? (wavelength etc.).
Thanks in advance,
Roman
Hey Roman, there are lots of alternatives. Just search 1206 Red SMD Indicator LEDs. The wavelengths are important but can vary as long as you have a red (650ish nm) and infrared LED. The IR LED you want between 840nm and 950nm. You can use 20mA to 50mA or higher intensity, most LEDs have a range, higher is much better for data acquisition. If you want the full rundown look up "fundamentals of pulse oximetry" or something like that, lots of great guides.
