Hey all, I will likely be making a newsletter about all the recent updates soon, as it looks like things at Crowd Supply are finally rolling forward and I've done, uh, zero promotion, but anyway I'm excited to share all of the recent developments we've undergone.
First off, I pushed a firmware update for the V2 devices which enables temperature sensing. I completely forgot these chips had that feature and it appears to be quite accurate. The catch is it's an internal measurement to the chip, so it's quite slow to warm up unless you want to add something more thermally conductive around the sensor (which I don't really recommend). I do not have a front end for it yet but that's something I'm coming up with in the coming week on our new software platform.
So the next thing then is our exciting new software platform: https://app.brainsatplay.com
This is in partnership with a cool dude graduating from USC soon who I found a lot of common ground with, Garrett Flynn, with more team members being onboarded while we slowly go legit over here.
Live EEG data with Muse, also works with the FreeEEG32:

This platform allows for real time EEG and HEG data streaming & analysis with my devices and a few other popular ones like the Muse and OpenBCI's boards. We're testing all kinds of integrations from Webgazer to Neosensory as we can quickly turn any data stream into a functional front end experience. It's great for generating general content but it's also a solid acquisition tool that we can continuously scale.
- Right now for the HEG you can plug and play just like my old software but with many types of feedback on screen simultaneously.
- It will automatically record your data and save it to a browser cache (IndexedDB via BrowserFS for you nerds).
- You can then review this data in-app and compare session history (currently rudimentary). Session history metrics are backed up as an additional CSV which you can download, plus we are working on Google Drive integration to back up session histories online and allow persistent training experiences across devices. This COMPLETELY obsoletes the data charting thing on my website, and it's far superior as it's all relegated through your own drive accounts and then is accessible from the app. It's working great but still in development, it needs another solid month or two just polishing and documenting everything. We have one of the most functional and easy to develop cross platform BCI frontends ever, and this will be our stomping ground to get a community of brain related content going and develop for multiple neurofeedback & engineering modalities simultaneously. We got BIG plans :-)
Thanks !
About https://app.brainsatplay.com : will it work with Muse 1 ?
@Neel We're working every day on the software, so much to do still though we're a long ways from just a month ago. Very excited after some meetings we had this week, we should be able to provide for a lot of real world use cases and research for sure because the standards on software are so low right now.
Cheers!
Great, with the Crowd Supply we should have more users for V2. New software seems to coming up well too.
