In WiFi mode on the device uses a bit more power so it gets warmer. If you ever felt your router getting warm it's the same thing. It's set to the lowest power settings I could manage and it should not cause any problems however. If it's like REALLY hot and potentially can burn you then I should replace it for you but that shouldn't be the case. If you switch it to BLE or BT Classic mode it shouldn't get nearly as warm.
