I'm going to buy the kit for just the sensor as i'm having the rest of the parts already laying around. I've been looking but I can't find the schematics of the rest of the build. Mainly how to connect the lolin32 and the ADS1115 to the sensor. Where can I find these?
Thanks! Great work on the HEGduino!!
Yes with any luck we can change the world :-) Right now I'm in every continent except of course Antarctica. It's been a really neat experience, one of those "only in the 21st century" sort of vibes. But I can't get too megalomanic yet, I gotta get the work done first so it's bulletproof. Yeah the Mendi is 300+. We can do something equivalent for - I shit you not - $10 in parts, maybe another $10 for some nice digs for it, and still have it be state-of-the-art. They took the App from Brain Trainer's software and just streamlined it also, nothing original. I worked on a similar headset for another company that's unfortunately going to get priced around the same even though I lobbied my best to get it to <$200 (it's also what I agreed to originally). It's definitely easy to cash in on biofeedback tech right now but it's highly immoral IMO, I live in a country where health care is considered a luxury though and the mentality of "I made a thing therefore my margins need to be 7000% because I'm god and you need it so you won't complain" is a plague, just try buying an Epi Pen or Insulin. There's a lot of careerism too, a big barrier has been convincing talented people to say fuck the glory, fuck careers, fuck IP and other self-fellating ideologies - let's just do some good for the world using knowledge we've borrowed from our progenitors who mostly did it for free or for shit-pay in a university somewhere because they believed in what they were doing. We're not here for long, a lot of us die randomly and brutally and never even get the chance to experience life in its fullest, so let's make our time worth while and special and quit playing stupid money games. We ought to have more public institutions for pure innovation and outreach, everything is politicized or financialized. RE: HEG + TES type stuff, I'm not going to be focused on invasive procedures for the foreseeable future, it's a bigger gray area and like you said there's so many unknowns. I'm personally more convinced in the effectiveness of non-invasive blood flow/breathing therapy with the HEG than anything else at this point, because it's doing so much for our most basic physiology which support our complex brains, and the cumulative effects of stress or trauma especially in early development are still highly overlooked yet also highly treatable through these sorts of avenues. The HEG adds reality testing more than anything.
Man, that sounds awesome. I think not only the US but also way beyond (You've reached Europe already as I live in Holland).
I've been experimenting a bit with Muse and tVNS but it feels like there's just so much more to do. And also these companies keeping the tech for themselves and the price so high isn't really pushing things forward. Like the new Mendi thing. $500 or something? Insane..
Have you been looking into tDCS and tVNS? Could it be a synergistic combo with HEG?
Well it started as just me using a pulse oximeter-specialized ADC (really just has some extra filtering and ambient cancellation built in, nothing I can't do in software) and since has evolved to a full blown 8 channel solution with the AD7771 and without changing the end price for you. I have been talking to a lot of people in the community and seeing what's out there and it's been eye-opening. I am trying to do something that will be a BCI nerd's wet dream lol, multi-modal HEG/pulse ox + EEG/ECG possibilities, and also crash the market. My next release will be another HEG, but I'm researching EEG to be able to utilize that, too, which may form another release this year for a concussion research/recovery project I'm partnering on. I've been on the war path networking and then staying up all night designing. I have support from OpenBCI, NeurotechX, Crowd Supply, BILA/Biocomp, Atlas Holdings (a BC firm not the US one), and a ton of scientists (including the guy on FreeEEG32, the guy who did EROS, and a guy who's a leading fMRI researcher), so hopefully I can do em a solid and bring this tech down to earth finally :-). I'm starting here and not stopping till I drop or I've rewritten mental health care paradigms in the US.
Nice, thanks!
Really curious about what V2 will bring. Saw something in the code about HRV too so I bet it's going to be awesome.
https://github.com/moothyknight/HEG_ESP32/tree/master/More/hardware/boards/HEGduinoV1 ^^^ Use these, they're the actual board files and are up to date. I'll be uploading more board designs too, some canned prototypes for V2 as well as V2 itself when time comes. Got some good stuff cooking. 21: SDA 22: SCL
Hi Joshua, thanks for your answer!
I actually mean the schematics for the exact wiring as im trying to build the pcb myself and connect it to the sensor which i will be buying from you guys.
I found a schematics in the whitepaper so I guess I answered my own question. What pins are SDA and SCL on the Lolin32?
Thanks again. Looking forward to the video.
Hey Roman, find the instructions with images here:

The firmware is in that repository as well which you can find from the main folder. I'm working on a video this week finally, also. And thank you! :-)
